Right from the start of this beautiful hike, the trail along the stream is enchanting. But shortly after a stream crossing, the trail climbs steeply. Finally, the summit! 
 
On the ridge, we’re close to Vert-Buisson. In the Middle Ages, this peaceful spot was a welcome stop for travelers taking the Vecquée, a route connecting the principality of Liège to that of Stavelot. The long trek through the woods leads to Ville-au-Bois, a remote hamlet that truly lives up to its name. As we leave the hamlet, we follow the course of the torrent, the Chefna.

The path it carves through the rocks is rugged. The descent seems endless, but what a thrill it is to ride your mountain bike along one of the country’s most beautiful trails!

After this steep descent, the Fonds de Quareux finally come into view—those magnificent quartzite boulders scattered across the bed of the Amblève—bringing this magnificent yet demanding ride to a close.

Good to Know!
The Côte de La Redoute is a famous climb on the oldest cycling race, Liège–Bastogne–Liège (1.7 km – elevation gain 161 m). It is located in Sougné-Remouchamps in the municipality of Aywaille.
