The Remouchamps Cave

The world’s longest underground boat tour.
There’s no need to describe the Remouchamps Cave any further.

Opened to the public in 1912 and equipped with magical lighting in 1924, this gem located in the province of Liège can be explored in two parts:

- The first part is a walking tour that takes visitors to the first chamber inhabited 8,000 years ago by Paleolithic hunters and to the ancient siphons of the underground river, the “Rubicon.” The setting is magical, colorful, and vibrant all along the route to the Cathedral’s grand hall. The walkways are easy to navigate, comfortable, clean, and non-slip. As you venture deep beneath the earth, guided by a tour guide, you’ll enjoy a fabulous spectacle. Each natural wonder is explained in detail.

After the highlight of the Cathedral…

- The second part of the tour takes place by boat. Gliding along the meandering course of an underground river nearly 600 meters long, in a muffled and mysterious silence, the boat reveals new sights, including the famous palm tree sprouting from the river and spreading its fronds like marvelous drapery beneath the vaulted ceiling. Visitors are then brought back to their starting point.
